Kolab Linux Groupware
Kolab is a free software Groupware solution for Linux. It consists of the Kolab
server and different Kolab Clients, like for example of the
implementation of Kolab abilities into the KDE software Kontact. Kolab
on the software and the concepts constructs, which were specified by
the Kroupware Contract.
Fundamental ideas of the Kolab Linux Groupware
Apart from the Kolab server it is possible to realize the ideas
behind Kolab also with the help of a IMAP e-mail server. However the Kolab
server contains some extensions to common IMAP servers. Kolab creates
so the possibility of synchronizing and on the other hand with other
users of exchanging its contacts and calendar entries. Everything which for it is necessary,
is a Kolab compatible Client (e.g. Kontact, or Mozilla Thunderbird
with the SyncKolab Extension).
